According to three people who supposedly (per The Information) have major information about the project (codenamed internally as D23), Apple is rumoured to be in the works of making a significantly thinner iPhone model in 2025 – however, the new model will be supposedly taking more money from your pockets. According to The Information, the iPhone 17 Slim will cost more than the iPhone 15 Pro Max, which is currently priced at $1,200.

At Apple's "Let Loose" event which occurred on May 7, Apple unveiled a thinner iPad Pro, that would be thinner than a iPod Nano at a staggering 5.1 millimeters.

In a article with 9to5Mac, Jeff Pu, Haitong International Securities Analyst reported that the iPhone 17 Slim will be replacing the Plus model in 2025.

According to Pu, the lineup of the iPhone 17 will be:

  • iPhone 17 - 6.1 inch display
  • iPhone 17 Slim - 6.6 inch display
  • iPhone 17 Pro - 6.3 inch display
  • iPhone 17 Pro Max - 6.9 inch display

If such rumours are true:

  • The iPhone 17 Slim will be larger than the iPhone 17 and the iPhone 17 Pro.
  • The iPhone 17 lineup will have 24MP front cameras, a significant upgrade from the current 12MP front-facing cameras
  • Additionally, according to Pu, the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Slim, and iPhone 17 Pro will be built out of aluminum. However, Pu says that the iPhone 17 Pro Max will still be built out of titanium.
